Therapy

Dr. Kelly Hughes Berardi provides individual therapy in the form of telehealth. The frequency and length of treatment is tailored to each individual. Everyone’s situation is unique, and therefore each person’s experience in therapy will be different and tailored to fit their needs and goals. She believes establishing a strong alliance or partnership with her clients is a key element to change. She views her role in therapy as teacher or advocate. Creating a collaborative environment of empathic understanding, trust, and acceptance is the foundation upon which she teaches cognitive, behavioral, and acceptance based strategies to help clients cope with and overcome their unique struggles. A big part of her approach also focuses on client strengths and helping them to not only feel better but to thrive. Therapy begins with a clinical intake and follows with weekly to monthly (depending on what you need). Sessions last 45 to 50 minutes.

Dr. Hughes Berardi’s approach to therapy is rooted in cognitive-behavioral and acceptance based therapies. She specializes in the following:

Areas of Focus

• anxiety
• trauma & PTSD (military, sexual trauma, birth trauma, domestic violence, car accidents, etc.)
• life transitions
• stress management
• mindfulness and relaxation training
• relationship issues
• eating and body image issues

My Approach

A strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors to meaningful change. I work to create a collaborative environment built on empathic understanding, trust, and acceptance. This relationship forms the foundation for everything we do together in therapy.

Within that space, I integrate evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies. These tools are introduced with care — not as one-size-fits-all solutions, but as skills we tailor together to help you navigate your unique struggles, build resilience, and move toward growth / what matters most to you.
